The Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts (GISPA) has collectively created their yearly May show around Daniel Wallace’s Big Fish. The last performance is tonight at ArtSpring.
This photo is from the dress rehearsal where I had the opportunity to wander around on-stage in an attempt to capture some of the creative and performing genius of these kids.
Many of the students are proficient in more than one area; Maya Cook, above, is one of the GISPA musicians but regularly does double duty as an actor.
*The show takes place in the 50’s when images were shot in the early days of 35mm film. This low contrast, backlit image has that retro look but popped out of a digital camera pretty much as you see it.

Sailing with BC Ferries, Crofton on Vancouver Island to Vesuvius on Salt Spring Island.
This is not a hurry up and wait situation—more of a get there early and wait situation. In fact, best to relax, go slow, put your feet up and enjoy the day.
A day trip to the city and a man dressed in red.
And yes, it really was that red, so red it hurt the eyes!
