This is an odd view of a bank in Ganges on Salt Spring Island. It’s taken from a parking lot.
I suppose lots of people have money piled up in there…gaining no interest.

It’s been a while since we’ve looked at a Salt Spring home. This one, designed by Blue Sky Architecture puts the sweet in ‘home sweet home’!
This 69 acre property has just gone on the market, you can see details at the Sotheby’s Canada website.
Looking up in an old-growth forest
This week I had the good fortune to wander, alone, for two hours in a grove of ancient trees. I did not see or hear any people, cars or other activity. The look, the smell, but mostly the feel of a true old-growth forest is something we should all get a chance to do. Once you do you’ll not mistake it for a bunch of big trees in a forested area. It’s different and it’s precious. And it’s not just a bunch of clear lumber.
Of course I did take a number of photographs. Couldn’t not. But without a reference, many lack scale. They aren’t just big, their huge. Just look at the pair of Douglas Firs in the photo above. But how big are they really?
So I included the only ‘reference model’ around. Kind of like a Sasquatch sighting.
My commute to work one day this week.
Very light traffic—didn’t see another traveller for two hours.
Met some very nice trees, birds and a river.
