Cameron and I ventured into the wilds of Salt Spring’s ‘south end’ and found an almost iridescent forest, a moss covered snake fence (not sure how it keeps snakes out), and the sounds of a rushing stream nearby.

Precipitation Break
A welcome, if brief, break in the daily deluge. The view is northeast from Salt Spring Island to Prevost Island with Galiano Island in the clouds behind.

Island Wrestling Championships 2016
Now, I’m the first to admit I don’t know a lot about wrestling. Still, this doesn’t look like it’s going particularly well for the Cowichan Valley athlete. Who knows, maybe she has her opponent right where she wants her and is just waiting for me to be ready to document her signature move.

A Garry Oak tree can live as long as 400 years. I think this one must have a storied past. And it looks like it might be reaching retirement age.
