The third in a series of “Bridging the Gap” forums for youth and adults was held at GISS last week. This one was for health and the helping professions and included medical professionals, alternative practitioners, and educators.
“Connecting Generations – Bridging the Gap is funded by Service Canada and supported by the Salt Spring Chamber of Commerce and our local CARE (Career Assistance and Resources for Employment) agency. The project aims to promote a greater understanding between employers and youth by bringing together young people up to the age of 30 with local employers in order to have face-to-face conversations about job opportunities, career paths, work skills and employer/employee expectations for specific industries/businesses on the Gulf Islands.” —SD64 website
