Fernwood Dock on Salt Spring Island

January 30, 2012

Fernwood Dock, Salt Spring Island by John Cameron

No sunrise on Salt Spring this morning. But it seems the Fernwood Dock area always provides a photo opportunity. Especially if you’re willing to get your feet wet.

I liked the look of these crusty rocks, but it meant wading into the chuck to get the shot. A very low ISO and very small aperture allowed for a long shutter speed. Which in turn gave the water a creamy look. And of course winter clouds are often magnificent.

Very fine! Love the interplay of textures, line and subtle colour.
Put it on my desktop and I just keep gazing at and enjoying it!

Fan of the Fernwood Dock postings.
    Endless opportunity.
