Salt Spring Rabbit

Nice to see wildlife around, but there are far too many rabbits on Salt Spring. No?

Cameron the wonder Westie would love to chase them (it’s in his proud lineage), if we’d just let him…

…Hasenfeffer!!…someone who speaks German can correct my spelling. That’s what we intend to do once they show up on Mountain Road, & they are already on Roland Road & Meadow Drive, so very close now. My husband, who is French, tells me he knows the trick to catch them &, failing that, he will install electric fencing. (My sister up the Cranberry has done the only truly effective thing, by installing a new wire fence, dug down about one foot, all around her garden).

So what if I’m vegetarian? I cook with meat all the time, & clean fresh Salt Spring meat is all I use. Our garden is our pride & joy; we eat from it every day, all year ’round, yes indeed, & no bally wabbit is going to wreak havoc chez nous.

Looks like that little guy was caught going trough a tight garden fence and sliced off part of his ear!!
