Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
In an optimally designed pond, the under water bank slope is steep.
This deepens the water. A foot or two of water blocks out the sunlight needed for the algae to grow.
And I suspect that there is fertilizer in the lake.
