Superest Supermoon

Supermoon at Ganges, August 10, 2014

Supermoon 8:35 pm, August 10, 2014

There was a big crowd out in Ganges to watch the moon rise Sunday. The Coast Guard area provided a good platform to view the moon which rose in the east-south east (105º). Some low cloud and haze provided great colour when the moon was near the horizon. Apparently this was “the biggest and brightest moon in 20 years.”

By 9:10 pm darkness was setting in and more detail was visible:

Thanks Stefan. Just a simple telephoto shot, manual exposure for the moon (300mm + 1.4 extender) and cropping.
