Early morning light suggested this unusual view across Salt Spring Island, Trincomali Channel, Georgia Strait, BC mainland to the distant Coastal Mountains.

A floatplane and commercial boat leave Ganges Harbour during a golden sunrise.

This sculpture made an appearance on Salt Spring over Christmas. Perfect for the outdoors, it was sold by the inmates of a BC prison. It’s called a Jail Bird. You have to wonder about rocks, metal and welding torches in the prison, don’t you?

One bird, one boat in a peaceful, pre-sunrise Ganges Harbour.

Thanks Valdy and all the other Saltspringers (can’t be Salt Springers can it?) who have been, or will be, pictured at work and play. And thanks to all the visitors to this site. Here’s to another great year; we’re back to regular shooting tomorrow.
Cheers!
