Now, if the ‘man on a bike’ wasn’t there and I had another wall for ‘hanging’, that would be a great picture! MRH
Thanks Ruth,
Can’t help you with wall space, but of course I took a series of exposures—including a few sans bike and rider!
John,
Love the way the evergreens are so defined and this particular colour of blue and the contrast of the black of the figure and the black in foreground. Gorgeous.
Thanks Gayle. Have a picturesque Friday!
I think the definition is apparent due to the strong backlight coming down the harbour. And the fine 75mm Leica lens (camera/lens doesn’t guarantee the shot, but in this case at least clearly helps).
Cool. It works.
something about “the man with the bike” makes me think of pre/post war British Isles..my eye went straight to the figure before the landscape..not that I long for that era, just interesting that that what was evoked in me.
Interesting. Thanks for that Celeste. And, for me at least, the bike and rider make the shot. I was attracted by the harsh backlight but just then the bike rider assed himself to the scene. Little things like that get me excited. (I have to get out more…)
Hi John, Really lovely capture & yes I like the man/bike combo – maybe just closer to the edge of the frame in my fav rule of 1/3 spot. A stand out image, well done :)
kindest regards from the other side of the pond ;)
cheers Natascha
I instinctively framed the horizon at 1/3. And I started to move relative to the biker but he moved out of the scene. I wanted the full width of the scene so cropping in post was a no go. But I’ve become used to his centre spot. Anyway, that’s my story and I’m sticking with it!
