An all candidates meeting held during the afternoon in the Gulf Islands Secondary gym. Actually, not quite all candidates as one didn’t attend.

Incumbent, Elizabeth May was comfortable with this crowd.

Fairly sure it’s the Tory who had other plans. The Tory candidates in the ridings here have generally avoided most of the debates, and most of them shunned a sit-down with the city’s mayor- only two of them turned up at a second meeting meant to make up for the whole lot of them skipping the first.
We cannot get rid of the current government fast enough as far as I’m concerned.
Well, everyone’s entitled to their political opinions of course. So I’m not going to agree with you. But notice that I’m not going to disagree with you either.
Back to the photo.
There’s not a lot of light in school gyms and this one’s no exception. There was an upgrade a few years ago that replaced the upward facing light… (the idea was to ‘bounce’ and soften the light back to the gym floor—but dust collected up there and special equipment had to be brought in every couple of years to clean out the dust, change some bulbs, and retrieve the volleyballs that somehow found their way up there) …with lights that pointed down. At any rate there was enough light to provide a wide angle shot with most everyone in focus. And telephoto shots with speakers on the far side in focus while the audience in the foreground was artfully blurred. Even so you can clearly discern the (trademark Salt Spring) vintage ponytails.
