ArtSpring Re-Roofed

July 29, 2014

ArtSpring Roof July 2014

Here’s a look at the newly installed roof on ArtSpring (Salt Spring’s Centre for the Arts).

Apparently this is a recycled-rubber-tire-shake-roof which keeps about 600 tires out of the landfill and has a 50 year guarantee. Good roofing choice?

That’s the first I’ve heard of that kind of roof. Looks like a formidable place.

So far, I’ve heard from two people (anonymously) that wonder why solar panels were not installed at the time of re-roofing. Interestingly, both mentioned they’d be willing to donate to the cost!
