I’ve always wondered what magic needs to be done to pick colour out of a black and white photo; I imagine not knowing is what makes this picture magical?
You are absolutely right Susan. As software becomes more powerful, this kind of effect is simple. Not simple though is knowing when not to use it ;) Seriously though this was a grey day with lots of grey an weathered wood, grey roads and grey corrugated metal. So the vivid clothing stood out. I wondered if taking it one more step would be beneficial…or tacky. Perhaps this should have been a ‘Sunday accident/experiment’ post!
