The tidal flats of Booth Bay are transformed in post-sunset light.
Musings:
Ever wonder how to get that deep blue sky, sometime after the sun goes down? That time is often called blue hour.
You meet the nicest people during blue hour. Like the guy from Manitoba who was here to take a Sirewall course (rammed earth building) and his partner who had stopped to take a photo. And the grade 12 girl who lives down the road and was just sitting on the bridge with coffee mug and camera, taking it all in.
Beautiful end of the day. How grand nature can be!
Agreed times two. Thanks for visiting Jocelyne.
I’m really enjoying my daily visits to SaltSpring, thanks : )
Gorgeous, gorgeous shot! The light and composition are really wonderful. It really captures that blue hour mood.
Thanks Kay. And a good motivator (for me at least) to get off the couch; it’s not over just because the sun went down!
I’ve never heard of the blue hour. I suppose it can only be got at with a tripod? If only I had an invisible and weightless tripod: I would take it with me everywhere! – This photo is beautiful! I love how the golden light is exactly in the center where the banks of trees almost meet.
Yes, exposures get pretty long. And, if you have time you can bracket and combine images. Another reason for a tripod. I ended up parking the big heavy thing and getting one made of “basalt” — poor man’s carbon fibre.
