Class of Twenty Thirteen Royalty

September 5, 2012

Grad Castle

The Grad Class of Twenty Thirteen started the school year with energy and creativity. Students and staff had to travel through the front of a castle to enter Gulf Islands Secondary School, and were warmly greated by the ‘royalty’ of 2013.

Students and staff at this school have a wonderful relationship.Teachers and support staff had similar reactions to the first day surprise and it was as though everyone was part of one big family. Great to see.

Lee Road Farm Stand

Lee Road Farm Stand

I had a look around and saw some interesting things for sale. Actually, I’m not entirely sure what was for sale and what wasn’t. Perhaps everything if the price was right.

Everything from bottles of Wormwood Tincture to calendars of naked Salt Spring women. And a donation box for the Mud Girls.

Fulford Bus Stop Chair

I was hoping Jed Clampett might come along and sit a spell.

Nope.

Salt Spring's newest pathway

Yet another new path on Salt Spring. This one is along the south side of Lower Ganges Road and runs from Booth Canal Road to Sharp Road. The bulk of the work was accomplished by Island Pathways volunteers. The path winds its way near the road but has dips and turns as well as a bridge and rock retaining walls.

It’s now possible to walk/ride from Booth Canal to Ganges without venturing on the Lower Ganges speedway.

It’s Perfect

It's Perfect

I pass this perfect driveway quite often. I’ve yet to see a fir cone or other nasty bit out of place and spoiling the view. I wonder if the horses notice…
