This Mute Swan was seen hanging about near Gastronomic Alley (formerly called Gasoline Alley) in Ganges. The swan seemed very used to photographers’ antics.

Horse-drawn carriage owner and operator Moray Kennedy appears to be getting quite the earful on a rainy Ganges morning. (Seconds later, several other photos in the series show the gentleman bending backward in laughter!)

Three more favourites from 2011. These are three of the best “in the sky” I think.
Above, the gorgeous eagle with the upswept wings and the strong diagonal composition (eagle’s work, not mine) is an obvious choice I think.

“Cloudfire” as seen out my back door one day. It’s all about changing colours.

And the third candidate: the August full moon that stole a bit of thunder from the Perseid Meter Shower.

Two old goats looking at one another. One into the lens, one through the lens.
Many of you have chosen to have your Photo of the Day delivered via daily email. But the mailperson’s been on strike the last couple of weeks.
The good news is: the mailperson’s back and the automatic email issues have been solved. But you need to sign up again with this much more secure mail delivery service. So go ahead, don’t be shy!
