These ducks seem to like the downtown Ganges area. This group was hanging out near Island Escapades (kayak tours and outdoor clothing).

In what has become a tradition in the Gulf Islands School District, a grounds keeper gives the hill between the upper and lower playing fields a timely and artistic haircut.
Salt Spring has a reputation as a haven for artistic folk so it seems only natural that the SD64 maintenance staff would come up with another clever sculpture!


Wandering around in downtown Ganges, I came upon this seemingly powerful plant. This is the back roof of the funky little Café Talia on Herford Street.

Have a closer look at this photo of Ganges taken from about 1000 ft. What do you notice?
For example:
It must be a sunny Saturday because market tents are visible and there are people all over the grass and playground in Centennial Park.
There’s a decent SE breeze coming straight into the harbour. You can see a flag on the anchored tug flapping.
