Home grown Saltspringer and Island electrician Gord Akerman makes an excellent defensive header. The Salt Spring FC team went on to take this game by a healthy margin (OK, not a New York vs Montreal margin, but healthy just the same).

One of the big activities on Salt Spring on the May long weekend is always the Challenge Cup Soccer Tournament. This guy, apparently a rescue dog from New Delhi, India loves to be at the games and loves to try to chase motorcycles going by.
He seemed happy enough to have his portrait captured.
Division 1 Salt Spring was all over Division 2 Lakeside in a 4 to 1 victory in Jackson Cup play. Here Gord Akerman tangles with the Lakeside keeper.
