U13 Soccer on Salt Spring

Changing direction; in the photo and on the scoreboard. Salt Spring’s U13 soccer team led Peninsula 3-0 at the half in this Cup Game. Alas, Peninsula came back with 5 unanswered goals in the second half.

Another great soccer shot, you get so many. I suspect that comes from going to a lot of games!

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that the higher the player’s skill level, and the higher the game intensity, the easier it is to capture compelling photos. Understanding the sport and being able to anticipate what will happen next certainly help. I started shooting sports for magazines in 1974. And I’ve got to say, today’s auto-focus, 10 frames/sec, high ISO with low noise, digital cameras certainly allow for better captures.
