Closing the Gate on February

February 28, 2013

Saltspring driveway gate in the morning light

Here’s a dose of cold, harsh light of day as we close the gate on February.

Lots of gates on Salt Spring like this one: almost always open, a chain but no lock, seen better days, repaired a few times, and growing some moss and left-over green slime from a dark winter.

Looking forward to March, Daylight Savings Time on the 10th, unofficial start to the allergy season and at the end of the month, Easter Weekend and the official start of the tourist season. :)

Thanks Lesley! This gate is located along my morning dog walk. The sun was up and the light painted the scene with much drama.
We walked by yesterday afternoon and it was just and old gate…
