March 11, 2012

First Daffodil in the Park

Look who was first to flower in Centennial Park ushering in Daylight Savings time. Clocks went ahead today one hour—from 2am to 3am. And will go back November 4th.

In this neck of the woods (48° 51′ 00″ N) the sun will rise today at 07:32:11 and will set at 19:15:07 for a total of 11h 42m 56s of daylight.

Lots of crocus bulbs rising, but no daffodils in sight yet further up the coast.

Spring is near. I can feel it in my itchy eyes and plugged sinuses… We just need a string of warm sunny days to get everyone onboard.
