Happy Earth Day, 2013
You may have noticed I’ve filed this photo under the ‘Daytrip’ category. Because we live on an island, many of us make a number of ‘day trips’ off the island. And it’s time to acknowledge that here on the Salt Spring Island daily photo website.
By the way, a quick way to search the four years of photos is by category. No need to use the search box on the top right of the page if you already know the photo category you’re looking for.
For example, clicking below the photo on the red word ‘Daytrip’ will find all the photos filed under the ‘Daytrip’ category; in this case only one. Clicking on ‘Photog’s Favourites’ will show you all the images filed under that category, two days at a time. Just keep clicking on ‘Older Posts’ to go back in time. (just to be clear and to avoid arguments later, that’s an expression; you won’t really be going back in time)
OK, getting back to today’s photo. (The Koksilah River)
It was taken on a day trip to the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. To the recently rebuilt Kinsol Trestle. Recommended.
More Kinsol Trestle photos:

1. From down, looking up

2. From up, looking down

3. Along the trestle walkway
Have you been to the trestle?
Super photo of the river John. You often capture a painterly style. This to me has a Victorian landscape quality. Happy Earth Day to you to!
Thanks Christina. The hint of sunlight gives the otherwise flat light image some pop and definition. Certainly something I would have added to the scene were I painting.
What I was trying for at the time was to show the motion of the spring river and contrast that to the texture and colour of the rocks.
