Fairy Flowers on Mount Maxwell

The Mount Maxwell fairies apparently grow these tiny (one inch) flowers.

Just to be clear neither Cameron nor I actually saw any fairies on our hike yesterday afternoon.

This is magical, John. I find it hard to get good photos of this tiny fairy flower.

I was trying out the Canon 180 macro lens for a couple of days. Unfortunately got busy at work and didn’t have much chance to use it.
But this shot was taken with the camera on the forest floor to get more or less a fairy eye view. Because it’s a 180 mm I was able to be both 3 feet from the flower and fill the frame. Superbly sharp lens.

      Maybe there’s a lens filter for that…

Thanks, but apparently I was too ‘focused’ on the lens and flower and missed the wee folk!
