Thursday morning, 7:48 am. Under the watchful eye of a resident tug, the pre-dawn glow illuminates the sea and sky. A Saltspring Air flight stops in Ganges before heading to the Vancouver seaplane terminal.
This post marks a year of Salt Spring Photos on this “new” website and almost three years of documenting the place and lifestyle of this beautiful Gulf Island.
Thanks for visiting. See you Monday, January 2, 2012.

Very pretty!
My husband is a light aircraft pilot so I have been lucky to see beautiful places, but never as pink and beauty as this.
Well, thanks! To me at least there’s something about being down on the docks; anytime. There’s always something special.
This day was heavily overcast and I thought about staying at home. Changed my mind and was lucky that the sky lit up for a few minutes. Might be a lesson there…
Thanks for sharing your lovely views of this wonderful place where we are lucky enough to live!
Happy New year.
Thanks for visiting Rosemary. Seems lots of people on the Island are unaware of saltspringphotos.com Please pass the word!
A tug, a plane and a sunrise – hard to go wrong!
Kind of the west coast cliché, isn’t it. Oh well, beats sleet.
Wow, spectacular shots, wonderful timing, gorgeous colours, amazing place. Thanks for capturing it for all of us!
Thanks Philip. It’s been an odd December for Ganges Harbour sunrises. Best time of the year for those cold clear mornings with the sun at the end of the harbour. The clear cold weather hasn’t happened yet…and the sun is already moving east towards the mainland.
I have deep roots on Saltspring (now living in Duncan). Thanks for the beautiful shots :>) My son is a Photographer and I will forward these to him.
Thanks for visiting Sheila!

And you Rick! Enjoy the rest of your trip.
