Good shot! I’d say he looks drenched, but he probably enjoys being drenched.
Thanks! I like the combination of man-made structure and wildlife. I’m sure it has some deep meaning—which eludes me just now…
He/she surprised me (and I think I as a surprise too) and I instinctively panned and pressed the shutter when the otter came fully into view. It was therefore just luck that there’s a sense of motion in the shot.
And yes I think the otter had just come out of the ocean, and certainly jumped back in about 2 seconds after this shot.
I’ve seen river otters here in the water playing around, but they’re elusive to photograph in dark waters.
