Yet another sign of spring. Baseball on a spectacular spring evening. It’s the season opener for Salt Spring baseball (Pee Wee division). The Duncan catcher is looking right into the seven o’clock sun, but the batter has his eye on the ball.
Colour or black in white? Pluses and minuses to both. Which do you like better for this image?

Black and white for sure!
I like the b&w partly because the I focus more on the triangle of three faces and less on the bright red of the catcher’s padding.
Usually I am a black an white fan, but in this case I like the color shot. The fence is too prominent when it turns to black and white.
Look forward to your photos every day.
Interesting I hadn’t noticed that. But you’re right.
Colour – without a doubt!!!
I’m going to have to go look for my own baseball shots, it’s time.
It will be interesting to see which version the local paper runs. Though their decision is partly based on which page the sports section falls on.
I’m partial to the colour one as it shows the brightness of the sun that the catcher is battling.
Good point Jennifer.
Love the colour. As a former player and coach there is nothing like the feel of the sun during a baseball game. The black and white loses that feeling for me.
Interesting. Certainly feels more like spring in the colour version: new grass, bright sunshine, and light after dinner!
