fog rolls into the Fulford Valley, Salt Spring Island

This photo was taken at 11 a.m. Friday from the summit of Mount Maxwell.

While lower elevations–particularly along the shoreline–remained shrouded in the white stuff, the higher regions (e.g. Cranberry Rd.) burst into warm sunshine early in the day. It was t-shirt weather up on the mountain.

It was visually interesting that day. We often experience a mini temperature inversion in the Cranberry Valley in Autumn. We can watch the mist roll in below the house. This Saturday and Sunday is another story..I cannot see across the valley today; visibility is probably at 100m.

I know it certainly affects the way some people feel. Me, I like the change; it’s different in the fog.
