Salt Spring Natureworks

The backdoor of Salt Spring Natureworks always interests me as I walk by. Not sure why. And not sure if I’m a fan of the open/shut thing. Nothing wrong with ‘shut’ really, it’s just a synonym for closed I suppose.

Lovely, clean scene and composition which works very well as a black and white.

Great insight Randall. And you’re right, it was and interesting scene in colour but it seemed to be crying out to be rendered in black and white.

Love the texture. For the photo, at least, I like shut. Adds an element of interest.

The simple design using barn board adds tons of texture and contrasts withe the smooth (red) metal doors.

I see your point about ‘shut’. True.

A great picture of my favorite store! Very natural! Too bad we do not have more business’s that look like Ganges used to. (even though it is the “back door”)

Be great to gradually slide back to the best of the old character (not the worst examples!).

‘Ganges Backdoors’ Might be a great idea for a photo series! Thanks Lesley.
