New Chemainus River Bridge on Chemainus Road

New Chemainus River Bridge on Chemainus Road

I’m a big fan of picturesque wooden bridges, especially covered bridges.

But the old wood bridge was replaced with a new five million dollar (wood free) bridge over the Chemainus river. There’s also a view-spoiling gas line pipe spanning the river on the west side of this bridge.

p.s.
This was a day trip from Salt Spring to Nanaimo Toyota where my Tacoma gets its yearly spa treatment. While there I saw this interesting little 2 litre (200 hp) motor in a Scion FR-S. Note the intake manifold sports both Toyota and Subaru branding.

      Thanks Linda.
I used to live in Montreal (and Ottawa, London, and Kingston). Can’t say I’m missing the winter you’ve had this year!

Isn’t it just the way? Something that despoils the view. There are the odd covered bridges out this way.
