Squirrel Harvesting Fir Cones

Every morning we hear several minutes of battle cry.

This little guy has been SUPER busy, racing around one tall fir at our place and knocking down cones. Sounds like a war zone.

This photo was taken with a long lens; the squirrel was 12 metres above the ground. And is seen here fearlessly working ‘upside down’.

We’ve lived in the same area for over 30 years and this is the first squirrel we’ve seen.

I have a lot of squirrels like this one near the house. Great photo of the busy little guy.

Must be fun to watch. Drives our Westie crazy. Thanks Stefan.

And so fast. What the heck does he/she do with all those cones?
