Several hands are need to raise the mast on Sweet Heart at Drummond Park, Fulford Harbour.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
I hope they managed to sail away.
Despite the drama, I didn’t wait to see (watching a tide rise can be like watching grass grow or paint dry). Looked to me like they had it under control. Except for the seaweed on the Canadian flag!
I always thought a ladder was only required when you’re on the hard. Guess not!
Interesting: the ladder in the water, the trailer with the trailer hitch pointing away, the accumulated moss . . .
What’s going on here? A run away trailer perhaps?
I think they meant it to be that way. The boat was placed so that it pointed into the prevailing wind and incoming tide. I think the seaweed just grabbed onto everything as the water rose. Once the rigging is up, they probably docked in Fulford. Then gathered up the the trailer and ladder at low tide. I wonder if the electrical still works…
