Hopefully you had some time to try searching for your favourites as outlined in the post Photographer’s Favourites Part One. Below are a few more images that seem worthy of a second look. These were all taken during day trips from Salt Spring Island. Enjoy!
These are all beautiful but the view from the ferry deck in black and white is, strangely enough, my personal favourite this year. I haven’t looked at all the photos so I’m sure there’s a fernwood dock photo that would also rank right up there. Happy 2016, John.
I think that’s a great choice Gayle. And shows that not every very good photo needs an expensive camera (was shot with the Ricoh GR—which fits in the pocket of my jeans ;-)
That’s funny! Well I do believe in that philosophy! We’ve passed the point of the technology being the deciding factor as far as I’m concerned, especially in still life images.
For most uses, yes I agree. The age of sufficiency. Some would argue the current iPhone is there… For certain types of commercial photography and very large prints the camera and its tech bits are still evolving. There’s a new one around here on a one year trial: Pentax 645Z.
Gayle (and anyone else). Can you tell which image above was shot with the pocket camera?
