Peter McFarlane headress from lawnmower

We’ve seen a number of original pieces created by local artists here on the site. Today I was working with some of Peter McFarlane’s newest sculptures made using reclaimed metals. There were a couple of Narwhals that I thought were pretty clever but this was today’s favourite.

It’s big. Very big. And very heavy. And I can’t think of a better reuse of mower blades.

Peter always works with found materials. The steel structures, when finished are oiled, which makes them tricky to photograph—it’s important that they show some ‘shine’…but not too much.

Love his work. It’s always so unique. Beautiful photo to represent it well.

There’s a lot of talent on this rock. And a lot of great people like Peter.
