I didn’t know this happened in the early morning hours. But it does. Is this a paid position; if so who pays?

Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
Florence say “this photo looks like it is from the 1950’s”. I hadn’t thought of that but I can see it now. What do you think?
It is also rather like – and would be more so if it were in colour – the American Realist painter Edward Hopper’s style. It reminds me of Nighthawks which he painted in 1942.
The streets of Ganges have been keept clean by Reg Aafnik and his service is by donation. From the article below I believe he may be still doing this job and doing it superbly. Rather unique I think.

Reg was the subject of a Salt Spring Photo of the back in October 2011 here.
And was picked up by a site in England: here.
I think this woman is still a mystery however.
Those are great photos of Reg. Yes, I thought the person in your early morning shot didn’t look like him but thought I’d post the info. I can’t remember the last time I saw Reg. It may have been earlier this month or last December.
Hi Christina. I saw Reg just last week. I hope people continue to support what he’s doing, especially in the non-tourist months! Cheers.

A bit clear for a ’50s shot. (add a little grain?) Lovely shot none the less!
HI Bob, not sure about the 50s but I know what this would have looked like in the early 1970s, shot on Kodak Tri-X and pushed to ASA 1600 in the darkroom. Nice big chunks of grain and then possible only with a very, very fast lens…
