Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
I like the black and white the best. It show that her dress is satin and her expression says she really didn’t want to be there!
The young lad on her right show some concern for her feelings.
Or else,,,,,that is her guilty look for putting dirt on his face!
Nice interpretations Ruth, I wouldn’t have thought of that!
Aww, that is sweet! I like the black and white one the best. It looks sharper and less grainy and it has a timeless feel to it, like it could have been taken at any time within the last 100 years. There’s nothing to give you a clue, except maybe the rubber soles of the boys’ shoes. Your work is always superb!
I’m with you on this one Rachel. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Welcome to the Gulf Coast from the Gulf Islands!
The black and white works best – the blues in the colour version look a bit over saturated. Great shot either way.
I agree. The shot was taken late, the sun was down and the light was blue. Shot at 6400 IS0…
John,
I prefer the black and white slightly although like you say, it works well in both The blues of her eyes are so blue and the vibrancy of the colour works to enhance the special occasion feel. By the way, you might not realize that when people subscribe to your Blog Posts as opposed to coming directly to your site, there is no link to comment that gets sent to them as part of that. I discovered this myself just recently. Such a beautiful photograph. What was the function? A Wedding?
Hi Gayle, thanks for the info. Yes, alas there is little or no control at this end; Feedburner (now Goggle Feedburner…)’s in control.
It was an oceanside wedding. I can’t figure out how these four could see the proceedings.
