Young parents and their learning machine.
The heavy overcast day is sometimes perfect for photographing people outdoors. The soft diffuse light on an overcast day eliminates the harsh shadows and glaring highlights we often see on bright sunny days.
Since cameras have a long way to go to achieve the dynamic range we see with our eyes, on ‘nice days’ we need to use reflectors, additional lighting, extensive image manipulation in post production…or just wait for a better (overcast) day.

Great shots!
(And we’ll be seeing a lot of those overcast days the next while.)
Thanks Paul, great to hear from you.
And yup, batten the hatches. We’ll be soaking up the environment in Tofino this weekend. Squish, squish, quack, quack…
