It was Foxglove Farm and Garden’s Spring Open House yesterday. There seemed to be lots going on, smiles, sunshine, food and lots of 4H kids and their animals. Amongst all the plants and flowers though, this one reminded me of The Joker with his crooked smile and overdone make-up.

That’s Mark Wallace, outstanding shipwright standing outside his shop on Salt Spring Island. When I visited him he was restoring a 1938 six-metre class racing sloop called Ça Va.
Gulf Islands Secondary School’s Improv team is heading to Ottawa this week to represent GISS at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Captured during a weekend performance at ArtSpring, the team has been hard at work raising funds for the trip.
