The Milau Bulker is a box-shaped log bulk carrier, built in 2012 and caries the Singapore flag. She’s 586 feet long with a 100 foot beam. It seems she came to Crofton from Shanghai and is now headed for Taicang, China.
I saw her loading while travelling on the Howe Sound Queen from Vesuvius on Salt Spring Island to Crofton on Vancouver Island.
Gleniffer is 100 years young. Built in 1912 in Hong Kong from Burmese Teak, she belies her age as her long narrow profile slices the waters near Ganges, British Columbia.
The Canada Day festivities on Salt Spring once again included a huge and well attended car show. Lot and lots of classic cars all shiny on the outside and immaculate under the hood.
You’ll find this Salt Spring roadside stand on Cranberry Road. It’s on the way to the Mount Maxwell summit.
You’ll find, well, granola, from Lara’s Salt Spring Granola Co. And John’s Mount Maxwell Roasters coffee. The day I went by there were bags of beans for sale and coffee by the cup. And fresh eggs from their daughter’s chickens.
Parked outside Central Hall with the more mainstream Salt Spring vehicles, I presume the owner/decorator of this van was attending the SSI Historical Society’s presentation, The Changing Face of Salt Spring History.
