A silky start to another day on Salt Spring Island.
Still traffic light free.

Early morning light illuminates the well-worn corrugated metal on one of the old Mouat’s buildings in Ganges.

Another morning dog-walk photo; one of the good things about having a dog. You get out there every day, even rainy days, and look around for a new photograph in a place you think you know.
Back in June 2011, I posted backyard photos for a week. Good exercise for those who take pictures. That’s everyone, right?
(I read somewhere that half the photos ever taken were taken in 2012.)

One of the big activities on Salt Spring on the May long weekend is always the Challenge Cup Soccer Tournament. This guy, apparently a rescue dog from New Delhi, India loves to be at the games and loves to try to chase motorcycles going by.
He seemed happy enough to have his portrait captured.

Early morning view of the dinghy dock at the Saltspring Island Sailing Club—home of this weekend’s Round Saltspring 2013 sailing race. More than 100 sailboats, including some super fast racers, will try to be first around this year.
(first around will pretty much always go to an all-out race boat, but with the handicap system in place, in theory everyone has an equal chance at correcting out to first place)
I think I caught a glimpse of Batman in the photo!
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
