Apparently this old growth red cedar measures forty feet around and has been dubbed “Canada’s gnarliest tree”. Whether it is or not, isn’t important. What’s important is the experience you have wandering around in an old growth forest.

Found art on the beach, a Sunday still life.

Earlier this week, a tiny break in the cloud cover near dawn.

The Mount Maxwell fairies apparently grow these tiny (one inch) flowers.
Just to be clear neither Cameron nor I actually saw any fairies on our hike yesterday afternoon.

Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
