A pair of Canada Geese fly over Fernwood Dock in the warm sunrise light.

A diving duck on final approach just as the sun was rising Sunday at Fernwood Dock, on northern Salt Spring Island.

Another marvellous morning on Salt Spring, this time on the Islands’s north end looking up Trincomali Channel with Galiano on the left and Salt Spring on the right.
It’s likely that the channel was named after the HMS Trincomalee. Which means we’re probably pronouncing it all wrong. And that should not be surprising because we’re still arguing whether it’s Salt Spring Island or Saltspring Island. (It’s Salt Spring Island…)

Once again at Fernwood, this time for a foggy February sunrise.
Turn around and look towards Wallace Island:

This year’s favourite Salt Spring subject. Splendid on a still February daybreak.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
