The Salt Spring Island Sailing Club (SISC) and its revised layout and enviable new docks.
Once upon a time there was a San Juan 28 (Legacy) and then, in its place, a wee Martin 242 (Oscar) at this club…
And on a related note, SISC at sunrise:

Falcon Rock at the 2013 Westcoast Work Boat Fall Rendezvous in Ganges Harbour
Apparently Falcon Rock was built as a 50 foot Fisheries Patrol boat way, way back when I was just a wee laddie. (real info here)
This is a special Saturday delivery of Salt Spring Photos…

*You may have noticed some minor changes in the look of this website.
For example, the sub-title which said images are posted Monday to Friday is gone.
I’m about to start adding new posts on a more casual basis; updating the site when it makes sense to do so. When I’ve got something to show.
There will be more changes over the next few months. And I’m still wrestling with the time it takes to create and publish the images. Time is money and there’s a cost to doing this work. I currently haven’t sorted a way to make the site pay for itself and not steal time from my regular work.
Speaking of which, some of you who may have discovered the automatic morning email delivery may not have visited the actual website, saltspringphotos.com. The site has a specific design in mind, something that the email delivery does not. If you’ve never visited the website, don’t be shy, give it a try.
More to the point, some of you might not know that I once again make my living from photography. Some would call me a commercial photographer (no, I don’t photograph commercials, but that might be fun!). Might be easier to explain what I don’t do: weddings and large group photos. I do however photograph things, people, animals and places for individuals and companies. Mostly on Salt Spring, but sometimes for national news organizations, magazines and other media. For the last six or so years I’ve donated a significant portion of my time and earnings to the performing arts and especially to GISPA (Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts) at Gulf Islands Secondary School. That’s my business cause and I am delighted to be associated with the amazingly talented and energetic students and staff in those programs.
Some photos you see on this site might not say ‘Salt Spring’ ( or Saltspring ;) to you, but they are what I encounter on or near this rock. Thanks for reading, for visiting, and for spreading the word about this website and my photographs. —John Cameron
