2nd Story Theatre from Gulf Islands Secondary hard at work on the technical rehearsal of their adaptation of The Canterbury Tales. It’s a fun, energetic and humorous show which plays tonight and tomorrow night at ArtSpring.

Looks like the GISS Scorpions Senior Girls team had their hands full (see what I did there?) with the Kwalikum Kondors (different spelling rules in Qualicum Beach). This was the first game of the 2013 Nairn Howe Memorial Basketball Tournament.
Actually the next photo tells the photojournalistic story in a more graphic way. Clearly the home team is in trouble; the scoreboard shows the lopsided score late in the final period. Lots of defence, not much offence. All five Kondors are closing in for the kill.

That’s not to say that GISS didn’t play a determined game. I like the story the photo below tells.

* It was great to see so many people out to the opening of Fernwood Photos at the Fernwood Café yesterday. Thank you for the many comments about enjoying the Salt Spring Photo of the Day delivery each weekday morning. My apologies for a few rushed conversations! And congratulations Gill on your purchase!
