Low Cloud and Fog at Mount Maxwell

July 22, 2016

Low Cloud and Fog at Mount Maxwell
Grey where there should be ocean, mountains on Vancouver Island and blue sky.
And there will be when the grey burns off.

Speaking of grey, we’re off to the coast for a few days. Judging by the changing forecast, we’ll be in no danger of sunburns. Salt Spring Photos should be back on Tuesday afternoon; perhaps with a few grey photos.

End of the Trail

End of the Trail
The trail ends at the high tide line. Two choices: admire the view then head back, or jump in for a (very) refreshing swim.

Canada’s Parks Day

July 16, 2016

Canada's Parks Day
It’s Canada’s Parks Day. So what could be better than a scene from Pacific Rim National Park Reserve? We’ll be scooting over to the coast next weekend to make sure it’s still spectacular there and to get away from the Salt Spring Island summertime hustle and bustle.

(This is actually a photo of two people on the rock at Green Point—on the south end of Long Beach, but I don’t think you’ll see them at web size.)

Bonus:
Green Point, as the fog begins to roll in. This is where the two people were exploring. The Point comes complete with a pair of now ubiquitous Parks Canada red chairs. The chairs look southward down Comber’s Beach.

Stuck

Tighter than ITthought
“Huh. I was sure I could squeeze through there.”

(from where I’m standing that rock looks like 3000 tons—give or take a few tons)
