We saw this shiny new ship from the Vesuvius ferry back on July 12th. It’s back from the far East and scooping up another batch of raw logs…
Is that a good thing?

Some mature Canadians enjoy a magnificent morning on the Howe Sound Queen.

The Milau Bulker is a box-shaped log bulk carrier, built in 2012 and caries the Singapore flag. She’s 586 feet long with a 100 foot beam. It seems she came to Crofton from Shanghai and is now headed for Taicang, China.
I saw her loading while travelling on the Howe Sound Queen from Vesuvius on Salt Spring Island to Crofton on Vancouver Island.

A proud grandmother was holding this beauty while waiting for the ferry.
Check out those lashes!

These two were seen on Salt Spring’s western shore.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
