Cameron, who is on the injured list, has been moping around and was due for an interesting walk. But because of his ‘sports injury’, the usual mountain hikes were out. He’s a big fan of the intertidal zone though, so we headed out for a short beach walk. But I had forgotten it was the busiest weekend of the year. Fernwood Café was packed inside and out. There were cars on the side of the road, people walking on the road and people out on the Pier.
Five minutes down the beach, we met one person (knitting). Cameron reported there most excellent smells everywhere. And the photo above was our view. One person walking on the pier.
So, in the middle of a sunny afternoon on the busiest weekend of the year—not that crowded after all. Pretty good, even by Island standards.
Knitting. How fitting.
lovely
I enjoy the image, and the commentary
this morning we walked the trail from that goes north east from the base of southey point road
and comes out on a divine beach looking north east at Wallace island with Galiano in the distance
and we didn’t cross paths with one other human being!
we saw deer, and an otter, and many birds,
so much for the crowded weekend.
Thanks for your comments Steven and glad you had it to yourselves!
That sounds like the Jack Foster Trail. The walk to the beach is interesting and the beach prime when the tide is four feet or less. You can find posts about the trail and beach by entering four foot tide and jack foster trail in the search box below.
