Nature Class

November 22, 2016

1-4 Nature Class from Fernwood Elementary
As predicted, today was very much a ‘November Day’ on the Island. (soaked, saturated, darn near submerged)

I much preferred yesterday, so here’s some of the Fernwood Elementary, Grades 1 to 4 Nature Class. Along with a similar background to yesterday’s photo.

These kids—and some more outside the frame—are sorting bits they found on the ground then racing across the field to place each into one of three piles: ‘evergreen’, ‘deciduous’, or ‘odd ball/unknown’.

Their teacher, Erika provided piggy-back rides for the victors. Not surprisingly to this experienced piggy-back horse, the grade 4s are actually quite heavy to carry around in a soggy field. Even on a warm sunny morning.
