Friday afternoon—or most any afternoon in the summer—looks like this in downtown Ganges. The main parking area in the centre of town. And a road runs through it. Just for giggles.
Vistor’s beware, some locals have a favourite spot in this area or around the town outskirts where they like to park year ’round and can get a wee bit growly when you get there first.
If you live or have lived on the island, you know this photo contains so much. Who’s in town? That’s so and so’s car. It must be Friday. Damn market! Opinions about car ownership and community planning or lack of and parking and tourism…add your own dialogue just from this photo which, John, I would never have thought to take and yet, the conversations it could provoke.
Ha! So true. So many conversations.
Like it or not, a fact of life on the rock.
yeah that pretty much looks like the lot every time I’ve been there. More entertaining on Saturdays when the less experienced tourists haven’t figured out that there’s a reason people are parked halfway to the turnoff for Mount Maxwell…
It does look exceedingly busy!
