An artist at work in Ganges.

Smooth sailing Saturday on the 9:10 am sailing aboard the Howe Sound Queen, heading toward Crofton on Vancouver Island.

A Ganges dock on another magical frosty morning. The fabulous blue light and perfectly calm water are exactly what I saw when I happened upon this scene.

The Studio by Bouge de lá dance at ArtSpring, Salt Spring’s theatre for the performing arts. Following their show the night before, the company put on this special performance yesterday for elementary students.
The dance performance…
…inspired an art enrichment program where elementary students had the opportunity to explore and create works in response to artists like Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, Paul Klee, Miro, etc. The student’s work is now on exhibit in the Art Spring galleries until Wednesday afternoon (3 pm) March 6th. Then selected works will be on exhibit for the rest of the month at the Island Savings Credit Union (the main sponsor of the program.) — Tracy Harrison on the Salt Spring Exchange
Below is one of the huge (about 3m wide) Jackson Pollock inspired paintings done by the kids:

A rebellious and contrary Island cart.

It’s not spring, at least not quite yet. Another morning with a brief period of frost.
Weather is a driver, encouraging us to look again at the normal. Like a car’s roof.

The library, as presented in a partially frozen puddle yesterday morning. The melting frost on the pavement reflected a beautifully blue sky.
