This was the fourth Bridging the Gap forum for adults and youth, supported by Service Canada and designed to give youth an opportunity to explore career paths by talking to adults working in a field that interests them and to give adults a chance to share their experience.”

Forty-two lambs this year at Dave Astill’s Cottonwood farm. And, despite living on a farm myself once upon a time, I didn’t know that lambs wag their tails furiously (like puppies) when nursing.

New Players at the Saturday Market

Some new and interesting things at the “make it, bake it, or grow it” Salt Spring Saturday Market this year.

Long-time Salt Spring residents Lara and John Gossett are at the market with two interesting products. First, Lara’s got some great granola — make sure you ask her about the phone number prefix/names. And then John’s the CEO and, I suspect, workforce at Mt. Maxwell Roasters. Yup, there’s a new coffee kid in town. And his absolutely fresh roasted beans make a superb cup of coffee.
